A note about the venue: Out of respect for nature and the surroundings, we kindly ask you to refrain from fireworks, confetti, balloons, or anything else that might leave a trace behind. Let’s celebrate together – creating beautiful memories, but leaving no footprint!
If you’re camping directly at the venue, it couldn’t be easier – you’re practically already there! Just a few steps through the little garden gate from the parking area, and you’re right at our wedding spot.
If you’re staying nearby in a hotel or guesthouse, the best way to get there is by taxi – We’ll make sure that local taxi companies are available for the ride back as well.
For everyone coming from Hamburg or farther away on the day of the celebration: Public transport is a bit tricky. The easiest way is to take the S-Bahn to Bergedorf and hop in a taxi from there.
If you’re coming by car and at some point see a gravel road and think, “This can’t be right…”, then you’re actually in the right place.
The parking area is signposted – and there are plenty of spaces available.
Accommodation options in the area are somewhat limited. And as if that weren’t enough, we didn’t realize that the same weekend will also feature an Ed Sheeran concert and the Schlagermove festival in Hamburg.
Still, there are a few options:
Camping at the venue: You can pitch a tent or bring a camper van and stay on the field at the farm. There’s a designated area marked near the parking lot. A small toilet hut with a sink is available nearby. Unfortunately, there are no showers. Please let us know if you plan to camp or bring a van – the venue needs to know the total number of guests.
Guesthouse: The simple Gästehaus Kirchwerder (very basic, clean, affordable, and only 10 minutes away by car) still has a few 1–2 room apartments available. You can book them for yourself or share with others.
Some guests are already staying there. Each room has at least two single beds.

Hotel: Hotel Jungclaus (about 20 minutes away by car) still has 2 rooms reserved under our name. If you’d like to take one, just let us know.
farm stay in Kirchwerder: (about 10 minutes away by car) offers cozy, rustic wooden barrel huts (“Knutschkugeln”) with a double bed and a bit of storage space. Each one comes with its own small, private bathroom. The barrels are located in the garden or at the edge of the property. If you’re interested, please contact Holger Heitmann directly (and mention you’re coming for Claudia & Matthes’ wedding).For those staying two nights or more, they also offer lovely apartments at a higher price point.
Breakfast at the farm.
For everyone staying overnight, there’s the option to have breakfast at the farm the next morning.
This is part of the farm’s regular service and is at your own expense. We kindly ask you to let us know in advance so we can reserve enough seats.
We love to travel and discover new places. If you’d like to give us a gift, we’d be delighted with a small contribution toward our next adventure – to a destination we haven’t explored yet. It might be somewhere nearby or far away – we’ll let ourselves be surprised and will definitely tell you all about it.
A little piggy bank will be waiting and is always happy to be fed!
Is the wedding on July 5?
Our civil ceremony was on May 9, 2025, at the registry office in Hamburg Eimsbüttel, celebrated in a small circle. We’ll be celebrating properly with all of you on July 5.
Is there a dress code?
Festive-casual, summery, and comfortable. We’re celebrating on a farm and will spend a lot of time outdoors – so if you’re planning to move around a bit, a second pair of shoes might be a good idea.
What's the venue like?
The area around the old bakehouse is reserved just for us. We’ll be sitting comfortably in two large tents that can be open on the sides in good weather and closed in case of rain. You can also relax under shade sails, stroll around the farm, spread out a picnic blanket, and sit on the grass. Coffee, cake, and dinner will all be served buffet-style – help yourself to whatever you like.
What should I bring?
In beautiful summer weather, we’ll be sitting in breezy tents or under big shade sails. Still, it’s a good idea to bring sun protection, a hat, and maybe some mosquito spray. For the campfire in the evening, something to throw on might be nice. And just in case of rain (which surely won’t happen!!!): don’t forget an umbrella and jacket.
What if it rains?
We’ll stay dry in covered tents and under the shade sails. But we truly believe the sun will shine! ☀️
When should I arrive
The reception with sparkling wine starts at 3:00 PM. If you like, feel free to arrive anytime from 2:30 PM – we’ll be there and happy to welcome you!
Are there vegetarian/vegan options?
The barbecue buffet includes meat from the farm, but there will also be vegetarian and vegan dishes.
If you have any food intolerances, please let us know – we’ll take care of it.
Are dogs allowed?
They’re not forbidden, but it’s probably best to find alternative care for the day. If that’s not possible, please reach out to us in advance.
Can we take photos?
Feel free to capture memories however you like! There will also be a photographer on site to capture the special moments.
What should stay at home?
Please no fireworks, confetti, balloons, or anything else that might be left behind on the property.
What about staying overnight?
For everyone spending the night: There will be breakfast at the farm the next morning – just remember, it’s at your own expense. Toilets and a washbasin are available and not far away. Showers are not available.
Can I contribute something to the celebration?
We’ve planned a mix of relaxed activities and lots of free time together. We’d like to keep guest contributions manageable, so: If you’d still like to prepare something, please check in advance with Christiane. (And just to be clear: classic wedding games are not really our thing.)
Is there anything I can prepare?
Yes! Feel free to think about a wish, thought, or message you’d like to share with us. There will be a moment during the celebration to pass it on.
Who's in charge for the music?
We’ve booked a DJ, who’ll start around 7:00 PM. We’d love to hear your song requests or music suggestions – just let us know!

Unser standesamtliche Trauung ist am 09.05.2025 im Standesamt Hamburg Eimsbüttel. Wir planen da nichts großes, wer Lust und Zeit hat, kann aber gern zum anschließend auf ein Glas Bubble-Wine vorbeikommen.
